Birth Supply List and Kit
Custom Birth Kit
At 32 weeks we will be discussing your birth kit and what to order. We would like to have your birth kit and all supplies at your home and complete by 36 weeks. We also ask you to get additional items listed below in addition to your birth kit
Instructions for ordering your kit:
The birth kit has the required items that will come with your kits.
Plus optional items that you can customize your kit with: (If you do not want the item, do not select it)
Depends:
Depends are like diapers and are wonderful to have if your water broke during labor or for the first day or two after birth. A trick to make them last longer is to add a pad inside the depends so you do not have to change out the depends every time, but you keep the added leak protection.
Newborn procedures items:
Please note we will be discussing both Vitamin K and the Eye ointment in one of our prenatals so you may decide if want us to administer these to your baby or if you wish to decline.
Vitamin K: your options are to have the injectable vitamin K administered by your pediatrician, the oral vitamin K or decline
Postpartum healing items:
Arnica: promotes healing from blood loss and bruising.
Wishgarden Afterbirth Sitz bath: Enjoy a herbal bath the next day after birth to help with healing.
RH Negative blood type:
If you have negative blood type I highly suggest getting an Eldon Card in the optional section of the kit so we can determine babies blood type.
Water birth:
Due to limited storage space, I do not provide a birth pool. You can rent one from Lolita Hershberger at 478-212-3378
We will need these additional items for water births.
4 additional towels
Bucket
Brand new Lead-Free Garden Hose and Adapter
If using a bathtub, omit the hose, adapter, and bucket and get an overflow cover.
